How to start using BeLive on Twitch?
Support:
  1. The first step is, of course, setting up your Twitch account. Once you are done with that, go to https://belive.tv/.
  2. Click on "Sign up with Twitch", and you will see the authorize window.
  3. Click "Authorize" button and that's it! It will open your personal BeLive account on Twitch channel and you can set up your broadcast by clicking "Create a Broadcast".

    Why should I stream to Twitch if I'm not a gamer?
    Support:
    And neither are we! It's not possible to stream games with BeLive yet, but Twitch is much more than a platform for gamers. Check out new branding possibilities, create more engagement with our new on-screen events and earn donations from your audience!

    What do I need in order to start using BeLive?

    All you need is:
    • Computer/laptop
    • Web camera
    • Twitch account
    • Chrome browser
    • Stable internet connection

    What internet browsers work with BeLive?
    Support:
    BeLive only works in Google Chrome. It's preferable to have the latest version of Chrome, find out how to check your version here.

    Can I stream from a phone to Twitch?
    Support:
    Only guests can join the broadcast via mobile while the host is required to use a desktop/laptop to initiate a broadcast.

    How do I choose an external mic or camera?
    Support:
    In the Production Studio, click on the gear icon near the "Connect camera" button. Choose from the drop-down list which external mic or camera you want to use for the broadcast. Note, that BeLive support only web cameras.

    How to start a Twitch Talk Show?
    Support:
    1. Go to https://belive.tv/twitch and click "Start broadcasting" button. If you don't have a BeLive account connected to Twitch yet, you will see "Connect to Twitch" button instead (check this article to set up BeLive on Twitch).
    2. Click "Create new broadcast", select Twitch Talk Show and after click "Create Broadcast".
    3. And that's it! You are in the studio of the broadcast. Take a look at the intro tutorial, prepare what is needed and press "Start broadcasting" when you feel ready. Note, that pressing "Start/end broadcast" button will open a small confirmation window, where you need to confirm that you want to start or end the broadcast.

    Is there a checklist that I can use before going live?
    Support:
    Here are a few things you can do before the broadcast for best results:
    1. Restart your computer to clear your operational memory and avoid small bugs.
    2. Make sure you have the latest version of Chrome.
    3. Close all software or apps that use a camera.
    4. Close unnecessary tabs and apps.
    5. Clear your cache.
    6. Earbuds/headphones are recommended for both host and guests to avoid echo and feedback.
    7. Direct Internet connection is usually stronger than a Wi-Fi, but no worries Wi-Fi also works.
    8. Don't download or stream other videos during the broadcast.

    How viewers on Twitch can watch the replay of my live show?
    Support:
    1. First, you will need to go to your Dashboard to enable saving of broadcasts in your channel.
    2. Once you are on your Dashboard page, click the Settings tab on the left-hand navigation.
    3. After that scroll down and tick the checkbox marked Store Past Broadcasts.
    4. Now that you have enabled archiving, Twitch will automatically save your broadcasts. Your videos will be saved for 14 days before being deleted. Twitch Partners will have their broadcasts saved for 60 days before being deleted.

    How to download a recording of a broadcast from my Twitch channel?
    Support:
    Go to the Twitch website, choose "Video Producer" by clicking the drop-down menu in the upper right corner. This will take you to a library of all of your saved videos of past broadcasts.
    Under each video thumbnail will be a link that says "Download". Click on it to save the video to your computer.
    And that's it! Your video will be downloaded in mp4 format.

    Note, from Twitch you can download your broadcasts in HD format!

    What features do I have in Twitch Talk Show?
    Support:
    In Twitch Talk Show you can have four people in the broadcast and up to 10 in the lobby. Also, you can show comments & on-screen updates, launch events and use features like agenda, crawler, muting guests, branding, and screen share.

    Do you have a remote operator option?
    Support:
    Yes, we do! In Talk Show mode you can manage a broadcast as a remote operator. To do this connect as a host and send your anchor the guest link. After your guest connects to the broadcast, pull them from the lobby to the broadcast area and stay yourself in the lobby. This way, you will be able to manage the broadcast as a remote operator that is not visible to the audience.

    Can I schedule a broadcast?

    Sadly, it's not possible to schedule a broadcast on Twitch due to restrictions of the platform.

    How do I add my custom logo?
    Support:
    1. Click "Add Your Branding" when you set up a broadcast.
    2. Upload a 150x150 transparent PNG image for your logo by clicking the + sign. Choose the correct file from your computer.
    3. The preview will appear to show how it will look on the broadcast. If you are not satisfied with the logo you can remove it by pressing X.
    4. Once the logo is set, click on "Save Branding." All the used logos will be saved for the future broadcasts.

    How do I choose custom colors?
    Support:
    1. Click "Add Your Branding" when you set up a broadcast.
    2. Click on "Brand Colors" tab right next to "Logo."
    3. Choose the Background and Text colors and enter a specific HEX code or click on the color wheel. THe preview will appear to show you how the lower third will look on the broadcast.
    4. Once the custom colors are set, click on "Save Branding." All the used colors combinations will be saved for the future broadcasts. You can remove them by pressing x.

    How do I upload a custom frame?
    Support:
    1. Click "Add Your Branding" when you set up a broadcast.
    2. Click on "Designed Frames" tab right next to "Brand Colors."
    3. Choose preloaded frames or upload your own.
    4. To upload your own, click on the "+" sign to choose a 1280x720 transparent PNG file from your computer. Note, if you don't see the video preview under your frame, your broadcast will be hidden by the frame. To put the frame off, click on it again.
    5. Once the upload is complete, click "Save Branding." Every used frame will be saved for the future broadcasts. You can remove it by pressing x.
    You can switch the frame off and on inside of the broadcast studio.

    How do I show comments on the broadcast screen?

    You will see all the live comments under the "Live Broadcast Preview.", in the Chat section. Click "Show" on the comment you want to show on the screen.
    If you want to show another comment, click on "Show" and the previous comment will automatically be replaced with the new comment.
    Click on "Hide" if you want to hide the current comment on the screen to disappear.

    Can I change a font size of on-screen updates?

    What are Title and Crawler?
    Support:
    You can write updates during the broadcast and show them on screen or prepare your agenda in advance with BeLive! You can show updates in a form or Titles or Crawlers.
    Title is a fixed text update and Crawler looks like a news ticker.

    What is the Agenda feature and how to use it?
    Support:
    The Agenda feature serves as your talking points during the broadcast. Only the Title will be flashed on the screen. In the Description, you can write your prompts or notes that will not be displayed on a screen.
    To set up your agenda:
    1. Click the Agenda button in the BeLive studio (under Live broadcast preview).
    2. Click the Plus button in the bottom right corner and choose "Agenda".
    3. Add title and description of each agenda item.
    4. Click "Show" button to show it live on the screen ("Hide" button when you want to hide it from the screen) or click on a trash bin on the left of "show" button to delete an item.
    5. You can save your agenda for future broadcasts.

    How can I share my screen?
    Support:
    1. Please, create a Talk Show mode broadcast.
    2. In the Lobby, you will see the box with the label "Share your desktop screen". Click on "Share."
    3. If you haven't installed the BeLive Chrome extension yet, it will ask you to add it.
    4. Once installed, a popup will appear. Choose "Your Entire Screen", "Application Window." or "Google Chrome Tab". To share an application window, please, make sure your Google Chrome window is not open full-screen.
    5. Click on "Add to Broadcast" to show your screen on the broadcast.

    Can I share a video with a screen share feature?
    Support:
    Yes, you can share a video, however, there is something you should be aware of.
    At the moment screen sharing with sound is possible:

    • On Mac in Chrome Tab
    • On Windows in Chrome Tab and Entire Screen

    In the studio, under the broadcast preview, I see Followers, Cheers and Subscribers icons. What does it mean?
    Support:
    Followers
    You will see the number of viewers who discovered your channel and 'Followed' your account.
    Cheers
    Bits are a virtual good that your viewers can use to Cheer in chat to show support, celebrate moments, and amplify their voice. When a viewer cheer, you receive Bits as an appreciation from their side. Note, receiving cheers is available only for Twitch Affiliate.
    Subscribers
    Once you reach Affiliate, viewers can 'subscribe' to your channel for a set price per month for additional perks defined by you. Under subscriptions, you will see the number of viewers who subscribed to your channel.

    Can I see events from my previous broadcasts?

    Yes, in the events section you will first see the events from current broadcast and after events from your previous broadcasts.

    What statistic do I have for a broadcast?
    Support:
    In the upper part of the preview screen, you will see information on the top cheered and the recent subscriber. Note, that the statistic is for your Twitch channel, not a separate broadcast.

    Can I switch celebrations/statistics off?
    Support:

    Video Transcodes

    What monetization features do Affiliates have access to?

    • Affiliates can have subscribers to start earning revenue on their channels.
    • Affiliates can use Bits on their channels. They will receive 1 cent per Bit used to Cheer in their channel, same as Partners do.
    • Affiliates can earn revenue from the sale of games and in game items that originate from their channel page

    How to become a Twitch Affiliate?

    The Path to Affiliate program on Twitch is designed to help you grow towards being eligible for the Twitch Affiliate program.
    To get started, head to the Achievements page on your Dashboard. The Path to Affiliate includes three achievements:
    • Reach 50 followers
    • Stream for 8 hours
    • Stream on 7 different days
    • Average of 3 viewers
      To receive invitation to the Affiliate Program, you must simultaneously meet all four requirements over a 30-day period.
    Within a few weeks after your channel becomes eligible, you will be invited via email, the Notification Area in the upper right corner of twitch.tv, and on the Dashboard live tab.

    What are the benefits of becoming a Twitch Partner?

    Monetization
    Twitch Partners can earn revenue by accepting subscriptions from their viewers. Also, Partners earn a share of the revenue generated from any ads played on their channel. Partners can determine the length and frequency of mid-roll advertisements through their dashboard.
    Channel Customization
    Custom Chat Badges, Custom Emoticons, Custom Bit Badges and much more!
    VOD Features
    Partners have VODs stored for 60 days, vs only 14 days for Affiliates, can rebroadcast past content and show off new videos to their audience.
    Teams
    Twitch Partners may create their own stream team by requesting one through Partner Help.
    Access to Partner-only Opportunities
    Partners will be considered for special promotional opportunities such as Partner Spotlights, Meet & Greets, Partner Panels, Streamer Zones, and more.
    Video Transcodes
    While non-partnered channels receive transcodes depending on how much capacity is available, Partners are guaranteed transcodes for all of their broadcasts.
    Broadcast Delay
    Partners can delay their broadcast by up to 15 minutes.

    How to become a Twitch Partner?

    The Twitch Partnership Program is for those who are committed to streaming and are ready to level up from Affiliate.
    The Path to Partner program on Twitch is designed to help you grow towards being eligible for the Twitch Partner program. To get started, head to the Achievements page on your Dashboard. The Path to Partner includes three achievements:
    • Stream for 25 hours in the last 30 days
    • Stream for 12 unique days in the last 30 days
    • Reach 75 average viewers in the last 30 days
    After this you can fill the Partner Application on Twitch! Partnership applications are reviewed manually by Twitch staff, and it usually takes around 14 business days. Once you are approved, the Path to Partner banner will update to celebrate that you have become a Twitch Partner.

    How can I add a guest to the broadcast?

    1. Create a Twitch Talk Show broadcast.
    2. In the lower part of the broadcast studio find a button "Copy link" and click on it.
    3. Now the link is in your clipboard and you can paste it anywhere you want to share with your guests.

    How many guests can I add to a broadcast?
    Support:
    You can have up to four people (the host plus three guests) on the screen, and up to 10 people can join and wait in the Lobby. Beware, if you are using screen share it takes away one place on the broadcast.

    Do guests need to have BeLive or Twitch account?
    Support:
    To join a broadcast your guest will need to login via Twitch or Facebook and (in case a guest is joining via mobile device) to have the BeLive app installed. BeLive account will be created automatically for them.

    Yes, guests can see comments and reactions on their side.

    Do you have any checklist that I can send my guest?
    Support:
    Yes, here it is!
    1.To join a broadcast as a guest you have to have a Twitch or Facebook profile.
    2. Please, use updated Google Chrome or (if you are connecting via mobile device) download and install the BeLive app (Android https://goo.gl/gzUrwM; iOS https://goo.gl/p1LCfS)
    3. Make sure you have a stable internet connection. You may want to clear cache and close all unnecessary tabs and programs on your device. Some programs may run in the background even when they seem to be closed, so consider using Task Manager or rebooting your device.
    4. Follow the link you received from the host to join the broadcast (click "Join broadcast" for mobile devices or "connect camera" for PC/laptop). Note, that on PC/laptop you can test your camera and mic before you click "connect camera". Click the gear button to open the settings window.
    5. Enjoy the broadcast!

    My guest's camera does not connect. What should they do?

    Please, make sure your guest has the latest version of Chrome. Ask them to clear their cache and check their camera and audio here https://test.webrtc.org/, reboot their computer, and try again.

    Can I stream simultaneously to Facebook and Twitch?

    Unfortunately, Facebook TOS doesn't allow users to stream simultaneously to different platforms.

    How do I choose the external mic or camera?

    In the Production Studio, click on the gear icon near the "Connect camera" button. Choose from the drop-down list which external mic or camera you want to use for the broadcast. Note, that BeLive support only web cameras.

    Can I broadcast with a DSLR?
    Support:
    BeLive supports cameras that can connect to Chrome as a webcam. As long as you can connect the DSLR camera as a webcam device, then it will be available for BeLive.
    BeLiver:
    Can I host a show on my phone or tablet?
    Support:
    You are required to host a broadcast on computer or laptop, but your guests can join via the Android or iOS app as well as computer/laptop.
    BeLiver:
    Can I put a pre-recorded video in broadcast?
    Support:
    We do not support direct sharing of videos yet, but you can do it using screen share feature.
    BeLiver:
    Why my camera/microphone is not connecting to BeLive studio?
    Support:
    Please, make sure you have the last version of Chrome. After that clear cache and check your camera and audio here https://test.webrtc.org/, reboot your computer, and try again.

    Why do I have an audio delay/poor quality of a broadcast?
    Support:
    Such issues may be caused by internet speed and machine load. We recommend making sure you do not download any software and do not have too many tabs open, as well as to shut down all the unnecessary software that can load operational memory of the computer.

    Why is there an echo on my broadcast?
    Support:
    Echo is caused when one person's voice is heard through another person's microphone. It is recommended for the host and guests to wear a headset, to avoid the sound from reaching the microphone. A good rule to remember: If you hear the echo, then it's NOT coming from your system. The person causing the echo DOES NOT hear the echo.

    I was in the middle of the broadcast, and the screen froze. How to overcome it?
    Support:
    Please, refresh the page, it will not cause you losing the broadcast. If this doesn't solve the issue, please, contact our Support via team@belive.tv, at https://discord.me/belive_tv or via the chat on the main page.

    I can't see my guest in the studio. What should they do?
    Support:
    Please, make sure your guest has the latest version of Chrome. Ask them to clear their cache, check their camera and audio here https://test.webrtc.org/, reboot their computer, and try again.

    Why don't I have sound in a screenshare?

    At the moment screen sharing with sound is possible:
    • On Mac in Chrome Tab
    • On Windows in Chrome Tab and Entire Screen
      BeLiver:
      How can I change the email that is associated with my BeLive account?
      Support:
      It is technically not possible to change your email in the system. However, we can suggest a couple of solutions:
      1. To stop receiving emails to the current account, you can "unsubscribe" by clicking that on any email we are sending.
      2. When creating a broadcast, you have a dedicated email field where you can insert any email for getting emails with details of the broadcast.
      3. You can use the messenger option for getting all links directly without emails at all.

      I deleted my broadcast by mistake. Can you retrieve it?
