How do I sign up for a Be.Live account?
Support:
  1. Visit be.live and click "Try now" or "Sign Up".
  2. Select your preferred method to sign up: Facebook or Google.
  3. After signing up, you will be directed to the broadcasting studio where you can start or schedule a show. Check out our articles on how to go live on Facebook and YouTube.
Note: Users are granted a 14-day trial with access to all paid features upon sign-up. When trial ends, users automatically get the free Basic plan at no cost. We do not require credit card information upon signing up.

What would I need to successfully stream on YouTube?

You would need the following:

  • Desktop computer or laptop
  • The latest version of Chrome browser (Safari is also supported)
  • Google account and a verified YouTube channel
  • Web camera
  • Stable internet connection to avoid lags and delays

    Can I start a broadcast using my phone/tablet?
    Support:
    You can only start a broadcast from your desktop computer or laptop, but guests can join via mobile/tablet, desktop computer or laptop.

    How do I verify my YouTube account?
    Support:
    To go live on YouTube, you need a Google account and a YouTube Channel. Create a Google account and go to Youtube > click Sign in if your Google account is not connected to YouTube.

    Lastly, visit youtube.com/verify to start the verification process.

    Can multiple people access one Be.Live account?

    Since Be.Live accounts are connected to one personal Facebook profile/Google account, the only way to access it is through this profile/account.

    Can I go live on my brand account?
    Support:
    Yes!

    When setting up the destination of your stream, choose which YouTube channel you want to use. You will then have the option to continue streaming on this channel or other brand channels connected to it.

    Which internet browsers work with Be.Live?

    Be.Live is compatible with the latest version of Google Chrome or Safari. We suggest using Chrome for best results.

    Is it possible to multi-stream with Be.Live?

    Absolutely!

    With Simulcast, it is now possible to stream to 2 platforms (Facebook and YouTube) or 2 Facebook destinations (timeline, pages or groups) at the same time.

    How many people can watch my broadcast?

    There is no limit to the number of viewers who can watch your broadcast as long as the privacy is set to Public.

    Is there a time limit for each broadcast?
    Support:
    The time limit is 8 hours per broadcast (for both free and trial/Standard+ users).

    How do I choose an external mic or camera?
    Support:
    From the Production Studio, click on the gear icon above your camera image. From the drop-down menu, select which external camera, mic or speakers you wish to use for the broadcast.

    How can I download the recording of my broadcast?

    All broadcasts are saved in the destination where you went live. To download your broadcast in HD quality, go to your "My Broadcasts" page in your Be.Live profile.

    Note: downloading in HD is only available for trial and Standard+ users.

    How long is the delay between Be.Live and Facebook/YouTube?

    A small delay is expected with live videos. However, a long delay can be caused by a number of factors, including network speed and Facebook/YouTube server overload.

    Is there a checklist I can use before going live?

    Here's a list of things to keep in mind before broadcasting:

    1. Broadcast using the latest version of Chrome from your desktop/laptop.
    2. Close softwares or programs that might be using your camera.
    3. Close unnecessary tabs in your browser.
    4. Clear your cache.
    5. Use earphones/headphones to avoid echo and feedback. The same applies for guests.
    6. If possible, use a direct Internet connection instead of Wi-Fi for a stable stream.
    7. Avoid downloading and uploading files while streaming.

    How do I schedule a broadcast?
    Support:
    1. Open Chrome or Safari on your computer and go to Be.Live. To begin, click Try Now (you may need to create your Be.Live account first).
    2. Once in the Studio, click Set destination > Enable Schedule Stream toggle > Destination > YouTube.
    3. Fill out all the needed details of your broadcast. Set the date and time, upload a cover image, add a title (make sure it's not more than 100 symbols) and description. Make sure the file name is written in Latin letters and doesn't contain symbols or special characters.
    NOTE: it's possible to schedule a broadcast from 10 minutes to up to 7 days in advance. You are required to start the broadcast within 10 minutes after the scheduled time. Alternatively, you may also start the broadcast earlier.

    4. Select the privacy level: public (seen by anyone), private (seen by people you choose), unlisted (seen by anyone with the link).
    5. Don't forget to click SAVE to schedule your broadcast. You can check what it looks like on YouTube by clicking on the broadcast title in the studio (it will redirect you to the post on YouTube).

    What dimensions should my cover image be?

    The ratio for cover images should be 16:9 (e.g. 1280x720) and should not exceed 3 Mb.

    How do I edit my scheduled broadcast?
    Support:
    You can edit the time, title/description and cover image, but it is not possible to change the destination of the broadcast once you click "Save". You can edit your branding any time.

    How can I check the number of viewers and reactions on my broadcast?
    Support:
    You can find the number of viewers and reactions to your broadcast on the right side of the studio above the Public chat.

    To see the reactions and the names of those who reacted, click on the arrow beside the view count. YouTube does not provide the name of the users who liked your broadcast.

    What is Remote Assistant?
    Support:
    With Remote Assistant, you can dedicate more time to your audience and let a someone else manage the show for you.

    Your assistant can do it for you using laptop/desktop or mobile phone. Simply set up the needed sources in the studio and send the remote assistant link to your assistant. On the other hand, you can control the broadcast from your mobile device.

    How do I add a custom logo?
    Support:
    1. Click on Appearance > Logo > Add logo.
    2. Select the file from your computer then click "Open".
    3. Click on the logo to preview what it looks like on the broadcast. Once you are satisfied, click Apply.
    Logo file guidelines:

    Dimensions - 150x150
    Supported formats - .png, .gif or .jpg/.jpeg.
    Maximum size - 15mb

    How do I customize my theme and colors?
    Support:
    1. From the toolbar, click Branding.
    2. Select Modern or Classic theme.
    3. Click Edit Colors in the bottom to customize your colors.
    4. Choose Background and Text colors by entering a specific Hex code or by clicking on the color wheel.
    5. Press Done.
    6. Click Apply to save changes.

    How do I upload a custom overlay?
    Support:
    1. From the toolbar, select Branding > Overlay.
    2. Select default ones or click "Add overlay" to upload your own.
    3. If you wish to add your own, select the overlay file > Open.
    4. Click "Apply".

    Overlay file guidelines:
    Ratio - 16:9 (e.g. 1280x720)
    Supported formats - .png, .jpg/.jpeg
    Maximum size - 15mb

    How do I show comments on the broadcast screen?
    Support:
    1. Once you go live, you will see the comments on the panel on the right under Public Chat.
    2. Display a specific comment by clicking the Show button next to the comment.
    3. If you wish to display another comment, click on the Show button and the previous comment will automatically be replaced with the new comment.
    4. Click the Hide button to stop the current comment from being displayed.
    Note: Only comments from Top Chat will appear in the studio. Comments made under the post with your YouTube video will not appear on BeLive.

    What is the difference between Title and Crawler?
    Support:
    Title is fixed text while Crawler is scrolling text. Both serve as a news ticker and are used to display updates about your broadcast.

    What is the Agenda feature and how do I use it?
    Support:
    The Agenda feature serves as your talking points during the broadcast.
    Here's how to set it up:

    1. From the toolbar, click Agenda.
    2. Enter your Agenda title.
    3. Type in your Agenda Items. Click Add Item to add another agenda point.
    4. Click Start to show the first agenda item on the screen. You can also click on the arrow icon or "Show Item" display text on your broadcast.
    5. Click Hide Item to remove the agenda from the screen.

    How do I upload media to my broadcast?
    Support:
    1. From the toolbar, click Media.
    2. You have 3 options to upload a file: (1) Upload Media (to add an image/video from your computer); (2) Add Media via Link (to share a YouTube video or .mp4 file from the internet); and (3) Import from Facebook (to add a file from your Facebook profile). Select the option that suits you best.
    3. Once the file is selected, it will appear in staging.
    4. Click Show in Stream at the top right of the image/video source to add it to your stream.

    How do I share my screen?
    Support:
    1. From the toolbar, select Screen.
    2. You will be asked to install the Be.Live Chrome extension if it has not been installed yet.
    3. Once installed, a pop-up will appear. You can choose to share Your Entire Screen, Application Window or Chrome Tab. In order to share an application window, make sure your Google Chrome window is not open in full screen.
    4. Click Share.
    5. Move the source to the broadcasting area by clicking Show in Stream.
    6. Click Stop sharing in the bottom of the page to end screen sharing.

    Can I present slides during my broadcast?

    Absolutely!

    You can use the screen share feature to show your presentation.

    What is Live Sales?

    Live Sales is a great tool for advertising your products during your broadcast. This feature also allows you to send a clickable link to your viewers, allowing them to easily purchase your products.This feature is only available for trial and Standard+ users. Here's how to use this feature:

    1. From the toolbar, click Live Sales.
    2. Click Add New List to create a list of your products.
    3. Upload a photo of the item from your computer. Afterwards, add the product name, price and description.
    4. Push your product to the staging area by pressing the orange arrow button, or create another item.

    Can I record without going live?
    Support:
    Absolutely. You may choose to do an Offline Recording for this purpose. Here's how:

    1. From the Be.Live studio, click Set destination.
    2. Select Offline Recording as your broadcast destination.
    3. Add sources that you need. Connect your camera, set up screen sharing, add guests, share a photo, etc.
    4. Press Record to start. Use the same button to stop recording.
    5. Download the video in .mp4 format from your Be.Live profile.

    What is the Solo button?
    Support:
    The Solo button is used when you have multiple active sources in the studio and only want to display a single source during the broadcast. Using the Solo button will not disable microphones for other active sources so you and your guests will still be heard while in the broadcasting section.

    What is the Audio Only feature?
    Support:
    The Audio Only feature is used if you don't want viewers to see you while talking during broadcast. Here's how to enable this feature:

    • Click the camera icon on your video source. Once you do, you will notice the "Audio only" message appear, indicating that your camera has already been disabled.
    • Click "Show in Stream" to push your microphone to the broadcast. (Note: You can also enable Audio Only for guests.)
    • Viewers will now be able to hear you but you will remain hidden during the broadcast.

    Can I embed my live stream on my other website?

    What does the reset button do?
    Support:
    In the studio, all previous broadcast details (destination, title, description, etc.) are saved to eliminate the need to set it all up again for your next broadcast. The reset button is used to clear all data saved from the previous broadcast, allowing you to set up or schedule a new one. Don't worry - the reset button will not delete any of your scheduled broadcasts.

    How do I add a guest to the broadcast?

    1. Create a broadcast.
    2. From the toolbar, click Guest.
    3. Hover your cursor to the link to display the Copy Link button. Click this button.
    4. Send the link to your guest using your preferred messaging platform or email.

    How many guests can join my broadcast?

    During trial period and on the Standard+ plan, you can have up to 4 people on screen and 2 audio-only guests. There is no limit to the number of people who can join and wait in the staging area, thereby allowing you to rotate guests on screen during broadcast.

    On the Basic plan, you can have 1 guest on screen at a time.

    Note: If you are using screen share or add media features, it takes away one spot on the broadcast.

    Does the guest need a Be.Live account to join my broadcast?

    Nope!

    Your guest simply needs to log in using their Facebook or Google account.
    BeLiver:
    My guest's camera does not connect. What should they do?
    Support:
    Make sure the guest has the latest version of Chrome. Ask them to clear their cache, check their camera and audio here https://test.webrtc.org/, reboot their computer, and try again.

    Is there a checklist I can share with my guests?
    Support:
    You may share this checklist to your guests prior to your broadcast:

    1. To join a broadcast as a guest, you need a Facebook profile or a Google account.
    2. Use the latest version of Google Chrome or Safari.
    3. Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
    4. Clear your cache and close all unnecessary tabs and programs on your device. Some programs may run in the background even when they seem to be closed, so consider using the Task Manager or reboot your device.
    5. Follow the guest link from your host to join the broadcast and click/tap "Enable Camera" .
    6. When joining from desktop or laptop, you may test your camera and mic before you click "connect camera". Click the gear button to open the settings window.
    7. Enjoy the broadcast!

    Can I do a test broadcast before going live?
    Support:
    Absolutely! You have 3 options:

    Option 1
    To test all features and connect with a guest, open the studio and try them all without starting the stream.

    Option 2
    Record the show without posting it using Offline Recording or by setting your broadcast destination to Test.

    Option 3
    Set your Stream Privacy level to "Private" or "Unlisted" so the broadcast will be posted, but only you or people with the link can see it.

    What are Stream Privacy levels?
    Support:
    These are 3 privacy options for your YouTube broadcast:

    1. Public (can be seen by anyone)
    2. Private (can be seen by people you choose)
    3. Unlisted (can be seen and shared by anyone with the link. Unlisted videos will not appear under the "Videos" tab of your channel page or in YouTube's search results unless someone adds your unlisted video to a public playlist.)

    Why can't I start my broadcast? The Start button is gray.
    Support:
    To start a broadcast, you need to have at least one active source in the broadcasting section - this can be your camera, a shared screen, an image/video, or your guest. Once you connect your camera, simply add it to the broadcasting area by clicking the orange "show in stream" button.

    Can I broadcast with a DSLR?
    Support:
    Be.Live supports cameras that can connect to Chrome as a webcam. As long as you can connect the DSLR camera as a webcam device, then it will be available for Be.Live.

    Can I stream with Be.Live using my phone or tablet?
    Support:
    You are required to host a broadcast from your desktop computer or laptop, but your guests can join via mobile/tablet, desktop computer or laptop.

    We also have a Remote Assistant feature that allows you to control the broadcast from a mobile device. An assistant may also do it for you using laptop/desktop or mobile. Simply set up the needed sources in the studio prior to the broadcast then send the special remote assistant link to your assistant.

    Why can't I connect my camera or microphone?
    Support:
    Make sure the latest version of Chrome is installed in your computer/laptop. After that, clear your cache, check your camera and audio here https://test.webrtc.org/, reboot your computer, and try again.
    Also note that certain antivirus programs and firewall may block your camera from connecting, so please ensure these are disabled temporarily before broadcast.

    Can I share a pre-recorded video in my broadcast?

    You can add videos using our Add Media feature.

    Why am I experiencing audio delay and poor quality in my broadcast?
    Support:
    These issues are usually caused by internet speed and machine load. We recommend making sure you do not download any software or have too many tabs open, as well as to shut down all the unnecessary software that can take up the operational memory of your computer.

    Also, the resolution of the video will depend mainly on your internet upload speed.

    I'm hearing echo during my broadcast. How do I fix that?
    Support:
    Echo is caused when one person's voice is heard through another person's microphone. It is recommended that host and guests wear headsets to avoid the sound from reaching the microphone. A good rule to remember: If you hear echo, it is NOT coming from your system. The person causing the echo DOES NOT hear the echo.

    The screen froze in the middle of my broadcast. How do I fix that?
    Support:
    A frozen screen usually means the studio is overloaded. Simply refresh the page to fix it. Don't worry - it will not stop your broadcast.

    I want to change the email associated with my Be.Live account. How do I do that?
    Support:
    All Be.Live accounts are connected to personal Facebook profiles or Google accounts and can only be accessed through them. In other words, it is not possible to change your email through BeLive.

    How do I go live on a different YouTube channel?
    Support:
    From the BeLive studio, click Set/Edit Destination > click your avatar next to "YouTube" > Sign out

    After that, select YouTube again as your destination and select the needed channel from the popup window.

    How do I access free trial?

    The 14-day free trial is available for new users. Trial starts automatically upon sign-up. Here's how:

    1. Click "Try Now" from our homepage.
    2. Sign up using either your Facebook profile or Google account.
    3. After step 2, you will be directed to the broadcasting studio where you can start or schedule a show. Check out our articles on how to go live on Facebook and YouTube.

    When trial ends, you will be automatically downgraded to the free Basic plan with limited features. However, you can choose to subscribe to monthly or yearly paid plans.

    Can I stay on the free plan?

    If the paid plan does not fit your needs but you wish to continue using Be.Live, you may choose the free plan. You'll be able to do 3 broadcasts per month. Please note, however, that customization and other premium features such as multiple guests, Simulcast and offline recording are only available on the Standard+ plan.

    What's included in the free Basic plan?

    You'll be able to do 3 live broadcasts per month, schedule your broadcasts, have one guest at a time, use screen share feature, add media, display viewers' comments and use agenda items.

    Can I pay using my credit/debit card?

    Yes! We also accept payments using PayPal.

    How do I apply the promo code?
    Support:
    1. Once you select the paid Standard+ plan, you will be redirected to PayPal.
    2. Log in to your PayPal account or create a new one.
    3. Select the card for billing and click "Agree & Continue".
    4. Enter the promo code, hit "Apply" and make the purchase.

    Can I cancel my subscription any time?

    You may cancel your subscription at any time. Once you cancel, you won't be charged any longer.

    According to our Terms of Service (under "Cancellation/Refund Policy"), you can only receive a refund during the cool-off period (up to 14 days of not using the platform right after purchase).

    There's no need to cancel your free trial. When it ends, you will be switched to the free Basic plan at no cost.

    If you paid for a subscription using PayPal, you can change your credit card information directly from your PayPal account.

    Can I transfer my paid subscription to another Be.Live account?

    Absolutely!

    Here's how:

    • Start a Free Trial on be.live with the new account you wish to transfer your subscription to.
    • Contact Support from the account with a paid subscription and provide the name and email of the new account.
    • Note: The procedure takes up to 14 business days. After this period, the new account will have access to all paid features.

    When will I receive an invoice for my payment?

    Invoices are sent to your PayPal email address 14 days after purchase. You may also download them in your Be.Live profile under the billing section.
